Bagatelle

I've always liked animation, and Frédéric Back has got to be one of my favorite artists. For me, his work is probably a very good conceptualization of a lot of memories I have from my childhood, as well as a very good representation of the sort of 'feel' a lot of things from the past have, that I quite like -something which maybe began with the japanese animation version of Remy Sans Famille (Nobodys Boy)-. Therefore surely is one of those many little (or huge) things that affects how I see things today, from an aesthetic, musical or conceptual point of view. It is my belief that 'little' thing like this can even affect one's taste on food. This is consequently something that I'm sure has some influence on the things I do, like and/or I'm interested in. I´ve posted a couple of short films I've found before on youtube, but this is something a bit different (and more abstact maybe), an animated indrodution for an old TV show from Quebec called Bagatelle (which unfortunately I've never seen).

Green Bird

Una de las mejores escenas de la historia de la animación japonesa, del episodio no.5 (Ballad of Fallen Angels) de Cowboy Bebop (a su vez una de las mejores series, que perfectamente traduce lo que la buena animación puede lograr, en contraste con la idea generalizada que suele tenerse del maldicho "género" 'Anime').
En conjunto con una banda sonora tan buena como lo es la compuesta por Yoko Kanno, en este caso 'Green Bird', el resultado es esto:

Romper esquemas - BMW GINA Light

"Context over Dogma". Aunque parece, no es frase de Rem Koolhaas, sino de Chris Banglel, director de diseño de BMW Group, quienes con el GINA Light han fabricado un prototipo que rompe con los esquemas de conceptualización, fabricación y aplicación de las carrocerías, al cambiar la piel de metal por una de tela, y de este modo hacer al automovil mas flexible y mas ligero, con todas las consecuencias que esos dos 'pequeños' cambios traen consigo.
La arquitectura tal vez podría aprender de la industria automotriz...
